When Josh and I got married, a couple from our church gifted us with registration to a marriage conference. There were several locations to choose from, and we decided to make a trip out of it. We’d never been to Charleston and had heard great things!
I reached out to a few people who I knew had lived in or been to the city and tried to come up with a list of things to see with the limited free time we’d have.
Logistical things:
We flew into Charleston International Airport, stayed at the Charleston Marriott on Lockwood Drive and rented a car. The Marriott we stayed at was the one chosen for the retreat, but it happened to be super close to Downtown Charleston, Rainbow Row, King Street, etc, so that was nice. Fun fact: We had 5 different kinds of biscuits that weekend, including a breakfast biscuit from Chick Fil A at the airport lol.
DAY 1: Friday we flew in mid-day and picked up the rental car and drove to a place called the Workshop, which was on the way to our hotel. We ate ramen and talked for a while before driving to Rainbow Row.
We had a session that evening but still managed to squeeze in a trip to the Historical Charleston City Market to get Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit. We ended up going back over there on Saturday too.
DAY 2: Saturday we woke up early to eat breakfast at Toast, had sessions all morning and before the afternoon sessions, we ate lunch at the Oyster House and drove through Downtown Charleston, including a stop at the Waterfront. That night we had dinner at TBonz (it was okay) after taking too long to decide where to eat.
DAY 3: Sunday we ate a quick breakfast (I forget where) before having our last sessions in the morning. Then we had brunch at Poogan’s Porch.
We drove back near King Street, found a random parking garage and spent the afternoon walking around the Battery and King Street. (Honestly, we walked all around so I’m sure I’m not explaining this as well as possible.) Also I had heard of the giant, beautiful trees in Charleston so we found a a few squares throughout the day and then decided to drive to a park before we headed back to the airport. We ended up going to Hampton Park, and the trees were gorgeous!
We finished up at the park and headed to the airport to catch our flight home. Though it was a quick trip, we’ll definitely be back 🙂

I was just seeking this info for a while. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your site. I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this kind of informative websites in top of the list. Generally the top sites are full of garbage.
Once I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now every time a comment is added I get four emails with the identical comment. Is there any way you’ll be able to take away me from that service? Thanks!
Hello there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could locate a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot!
